We can now sleep and have full vivid awareness of a dream state and COMMUNICATE with the real world

We could sleep and NOT sleep, at the same time. Did you know we sleep for 1/3 of our entire lives? We just made a step towards solving the problem of sleep

You can already do that. If you go without REM sleep long enough then eventually your brain loses its shit and just enters rem state regardless of whether you're asleep or not

Line up for your contract which states that in order to get paid minimum wage, you must donate sleep-time activity to performing your job, and remember, thanks to a legal loophole it doesn't count as extra work hours or extra pay

This was already accomplished in primitive form a long time ago. For example, the dreamer would be commanded to do jumping jacks on command. Such experiments were mean to measure the subjective passage of time in the sleeping world. Surprisingly, it matched that of the real world. I'm not sure what this means when I have dreams that contain days or weeks of information, or when I wake up with symphonies of such beautiful timbre and flow suddenly in my mind's ear.

I think there are ways to "lock" sleep time rate to real time rate, but otherwise sleep time rate is accellerated.
