I get college kids and teach programming to them for an internship at my work. There are 2 types of people: the first spends 2 weeks comparing and contrasting beginner books, looking at online course ratings, comparing and contrasting what to start with because "lol don't want to pick something low quality", and never really....do much. The second person googles "how do program in python" or whatever, and starts. Or orders the first python beginner book on amazon and starts. Or asks me for my recc and then starts. And it doesn't matter the source of learning, because literally any semi-okay source will get you past the beginner stage and you can actually become proficient. And this second person ALWAYS learns and knows more than person 1.
