Why are tinsteel food cans lined with plastic? If theyre vacuum sealed, theres no oxygen so they wouldnt rust, and tinsteel isnt bad for food afaik.

The biggest reason is taste, unlined cans make things taste incredibly metallic especially with acidic foods like tomatoes.
