Alright /sci/, I hit a wall on my inorganic Lab for doing UV-vis on Ni(II) complexes in various solvents both aqueous and organic. Redpill me on how to assign spectroscopic (or electronic) transitions for a complex. I'm certain I can calculate the Dq and beta from there. But my data is in Absorbance and wavelength for now. I assume I need to convert wavelength to wavenumber. But I'm lost on using that to assign my spectroscopic transition.
