Yea so one piece of matter in a small volume has a lower entropy than many pieces of matter inside a large volume.
Many pieces of matter all clumped up near each other inside a large volume is a lower entropy state than many pieces of matter all over the place zipping around in the large volume.

Entropy is proportional to the logarithm of that ONLY in thermal equilibrium. If the system is not in equilibrium, use Gibbs' formula, pic rel.
