>>12718327Depends. In your standard outlet you've got three holes. They're called "hot", "neutral", and "ground". "Hot" is where the electricity that powers your devices actually flows out of. "Neutral" provides a lower energy potential for the current to flow into, else the current won't flow anywhere, and you won't get any work out of it. "Ground" is essentially the same as neutral and is used for devices housed in metal casings to avoid accidental shocks. So theoretically if you stuck your finger in the "hot" hole and your chair was insulating enough, as long as you didn't touch neutral or ground, you should be fine, because the current has nowhere to flow into. I say theoretically because it might be possible if your finger were close enough and the voltage high enough, the current could arc through the air and flow into neutral or ground, shocking you.
As for your question about tasers, yes, you'll get tased. Notice how tasers have two prongs and stun guns shoot out two wires? There's a reason for that. Both devices are driven by a battery, and so long as both prongs make contact with you, the current has a path it can travel through you back to the battery, shocking you.
