Wind and Solar are incredibly inefficient in terms of cost and land usage, they cant provide enough at peak consumption and they produce TOO much during low consumption and burn out the grid. To mitigate those problems you have to FURTHER build a bunch of giant inefficient battery warehouses that rely on environmentally disastrous mining.
Solar and wind unironically use up more space and are worse for than environment than fossil fuels could ever be.
If you really care about alternative energy than nuclear is your best option. Done correctly it's nearly limitless free clean energy on demand.
Ultimately though the best solution would be massive solar farms on the Moon that beam energy to Earth eventually being replaced with a true dyson swarm since the Sun is a nuclear reactor millions of times bigger and more powerful and efficient than anything humans could build and letting that energy get blasted into space is a crime.
