The history of Lorenz transformation is a clue. They were trying to explain a negative result having made an assumption that line travels in predetermined "lanes" and an experiment for detecting shifting light with lasers got a negative result. This eventually became mathematically space-time under Einstein. The same laser experiment scaled up is basically gravitons. Same pseud experiment with different words.
But how can we adjust GPS with relativity? Well easy, we can do it with a different mindset.
That there is no time. All causality is determined by energy levels seeking states of equilibrium. If an object has higher velocity it has a higher energy state and it causal forces will behave differently. Ergo the time differences in atomic clocks is not literally time changing with time distillation, just rates changing based on thermodynamic pressures.
