I use Leibniz most of the time but sometimes I use Lagrange if I don't feel like writing it all out lol

I'd rather write out $f_{xx}+f_{xy}$ than something like $\frac{\partial^2 f}{\partial x^2}+ \frac{\partial^2 f}{\partial x\partial y}$

What really pisses me off is when that notation is used with functions with indices and comma.
Writing $df_{x1}/dx$ as $f_1,x$ on a piece of paper is shit and nobody should do that.

$D_i f$ denotes the partial differential of a mapping defined on some product space. functional analysis.
$\frac{\partial f}{\partial x^i}$ denotes the partial derivative of a function with respect to a local coordinate. differential geometry.
in $\mathbb{R}^n$ these two are equal
