Your speed boost gets divided by the Lorentz factor I believe. You can think of it as either length being contracted, so you don't go as far in a given time, or time dislation, so it takes you longer to go a distance. Those are the two sides of the Lorentz transformation coin, and they both affect speed in the same way, being the same thing.
*Note: I've never taken a special relativity class so I could be dead wrong.
