We now know that plants communicate with other plants and even share nutrients, information and water.
Given this, wouldn't it make sense to try to establish a rudimentary form of communication? Say, sticking tiny electrodes in the plant's pot, to gently stimulate the roots whenever it is given water? So it begins to associate the two.
And repeat it until the plant sends an electrical signal back unprompted, that it's thirsty?
