this is purely a hypothetical question derived from curiosity, and I have no desire to commit any form of self-harm.

I have been looking into salt preservation recently. To the best of my understanding, it works by creating an environment with such high salinity that no decomposition can occur, as no bacteria that could cause decomposition could live in such a saline environment. Then it dawned on me that I could mummify myself in salt. If I begin consuming salt and habituate my body to higher salinity levels than normal, I could increase the salinity of my flesh. I doubt it would be able to be to the level required to prevent or even delay decomposition significantly, but then what if I consumed a tremendous amount of salt, far more than would be required to kill me. Then I would die, and my body's salinity might be high enough to preserve it. Would the salt that I consumed then be enough to prevent decomposition? Is there any scientific basis for this idea of mine or is it impossible?
