Also, since time and space swap roles in a black hole the journey will always kill you 100% of the time if you pass the event horizon or even just the photon sphere. Inside a black hole there is literally no such thing as a geometric direction that doesn't point directly to the singularity. It is simply impossible to not go there, in the same way that outside the black hole it will be impossible to avoid going to singles awareness day tomorrow. You can't do anything to "stay behind".
