>>12699693>A CS Master is also the easist STEM program get intoyes, at least a course based one. thesis based ones are mostly exempt from the verbal blast I'm about to go into.
>and also a waste of time since they only teach theory.????
A CS masters is nothing but baby's first practical skills in CS, plus maybe some algorithms. You only learn theory proper in a PhD program. Most CS masters are dumbed down for OP's use case to break into software, not to learn CS.
>>12700430they teach programming to first and second year undergrads,
nobody needs to be taught how to program by fucking school. get an internship, do personal projects, or go to a bootcamp
>there isn't very much programming in the graduate courses this is blatantly false if you take any graduate course in data mining or applied ML.
>so I don't think it would make you much more employable than just learning how to program yourself.yes
CS masters programs suck, but not for the reasons you guys are touting. They suck because they don't lean enough into theory, and the application they go into is babyish watered down shit for students like OP,
