Everyone already knows this and only coping ideologues deny it. They don't matter whatsoever. One may think they do because they have slightly more social influence in the modern world but that is precarious and temporary and can not defeat actual physical realities.
The problem is our genetic modification technology is not quite there yet. Once we become more sophisticated and modifying diploid cells and human genetic modification, no one will be denying reality. For now it's just a matter of not hurting anyone's feelings while we continue to work.
