A Venus mass planet 1.5 AU from the Sun would probably keep its magnetic spinning core. But would be spinning FASTER than Earth. So, very high winds. Also colder obviously. Neil Comins wrote a pretty uneven book about what Earth would be like with no moon, that's what a Venuslike at Mars' distance would look like.
