I don't get it, I read the bombs dropped on japan only had 14 pounds of plutonium inside them. Maybe I don't fully understand how dangerous and potent even tiny amounts of radioactive material is, but just using my imagination it doesn't seem like enough to contaminate such wide areas even if each pound is completely disintegrated into tiny dust particles and evenly spread everywhere. What am I missing?
