This paper states that on average "African Americans" have somewhere between 25% and 27% European ancestry. What do they consider to be "African Americans"? Are they including all other groups of Africans, or just black Africans? They must also be including those who immigrated after slavery. Does anybody have any sources as to what percentage of black Americans have a European Y chromosome? It looks like male slave owners were reproducing with black slave women more than black slave men. This was also logged by several intellectuals living during the time of slavery in the USA.
