This is why art is sponsored by governments and now corporations: it's an old and tried way to lowkey brainwash population, pushing values that align with current agenda. At this moment, art is also basically a huge pyramid scheme and a huge scam. Postmodernist views on art that dominate in current climate allow to present any shit as art. This shit's value is hyped by certain cliques to be sold for exorbitant sums (and I suppose some sort of corruption and kickbacks is also present). There is a catch though: you can sell marinated sharks and used condoms for billions only if you're a part of a very tight circle of scam artists. Millions of liberal arts majors choose to not believe it though, and they keep paying their agents, buying musical instruments, paints etcetera, perpetuating the scam and hoping tomorrow will be their big break. Of course, this state of things is very profitable for people on top of the pyramid.
