What's the psychology behind these people? Over the course of my professional life I have noticed there are lots of highly successful people who are very skilled and motivated but they're also functioning drug addicts. My job requires me to be friendly enough with them to know about it and I have always turned a blind eye. I have met people who drive cars worth more than my small house and they will be on a painkillers like tramadol and valium or xanax and meth at the same time and they will attend meetings with clients like this. I have also met very skilled tradesman guys with 3 or 4 trade tickets who can do the entire job alone and they prefer to do it stoned, drunk or on speed and if you let them do it that way they're faster.

Whenever I think back on these people I immediately feel there is something wrong with our society not them. What reason is there for these people to use drugs? Just that it's better than reality?
