>So, other rocks were formed during different periods and they have compositionSo they were formed by different processes, at different temperatures and pressures etc etc
>So, what Tells us about the processes which formed the earth and rock types. There's obviously more practical reasons for wanting to know but peoples underlying reasons for becoming one is essentially
>shiny rock! cool. Different stuff interests other people, for example I'm an economic geologists and am not that interested in fossils whereas others don't really care as much for metallic minerals, one professor at my old uni could basically name the chemical formula of every metallic mineral, levels of autism I can't manage.
As a mate of mine put it, geologists essentially suffer from 5-year-old syndrome type of autism. I've heard other fellow geologists say that geologists in generally all have something not quite normal about them, a night out is a proper night out etc. and I know several other geologists who are 4channers although I don't know if they lurk on here.
