The fact that we're the only race to figure it out in the entire history of Earth makes me think we're a weird offshoot in evolution, as do all of the millions of coincidences needed to get humans to even make a civilization in the first place.
We'll likely find life on other planets, I think people are severely underestimating just how many great filters we've already gotten past to come out with what we already got.
