So I've been getting these "Delta-8 THC" gummies from my local shop. It's just like a weak edible, but somehow legal in Alabama? How did they pass this as legal?

Same reason CBD is legal, it's not technically weed. It's a loophole in the law. This is why laws are dumb.

if the delta-8 is extracted from hemp and the extract contains less than .3% of delta-9, then it might be legal.
