Even if you don't make it in this field you still need to learn about deep learning, advanced signal processing, neural networks, and lots of other highly marketable ee skills to do neural engineering. I am currently working on a BCI development team with a neurotech company on campus and in summer I'm doing computational neural engineering research on vision.
