Assessment of Intellect Based on Appearance

Do you guys have an inclination to dismiss somebody in your class/laboratory as being a brainlet if they are athletic or attractive? Sort of like how you wouldn't expect a beautiful girl to be especially intellectual? I feel like I have been taken much more seriously when discussing subjects with classmates whom I work with in group projects during the last couple of semesters. It's like they're assessing my input/leadership rather than subconsciously making assumptions based on my appearance. I hadn't previously thought about it, but somebody who works in my lab mentioned it and it has been stuck on my mind.
