When water freezes to solid, it expands. Where does the energy to that expansion come from?
Lets say I put a full water bottle in a freezer it can break when the water freezes. To break the bottle it takes energy. But what I have learned no energy can move from lower state to higher state.
So my question to you all is, where does the energy to the expansion of ice come from?
