Math at early age and future effects

If you were to teach a kid all the mathematics in pic related textbook at 13 years old and have them do every single problem in said book, do you think that they will have an easier time in university?
How do you think it would effect a teenager?

Absolutely based textbook. Yes, a 13 year old can learn most of that material. The reason most 13 year olds today can't is because we waste all their early years on stupid shit. It doesn't take 2 years to learn how to add numbers.

I knew someone who started AP calculus/freshman calc at age 10. By age 16 they were sitting in on grad classes.
They competed at international science olympiads and now study math at MIT.
They're pretty based, would often give me recommendations for books and what not.

That's one datapoint.
Let us add terry tao as another data point. Slightly autistic. Gets paid millions (if i recall correctly) to teach at UCLA. Has a wife, three kids, seems pretty happy.

I assume a similar thing happened with Scholze. Three math olympiad gold medals, one silver, completed his bachelors in 3 semesters, and then a masters in 2 semesters, got his phd at age 23. Seems pretty happy, well respected, etc.

I think teaching a teenager mathematics at a young age would be good for them, allow them to progress faster and further in their education. Allow them to make good money. Allow them to recognize their intellectual abilities.

They would hate you for it. I did a lot of math as a kid becuase I loved it, not because my parents forced me to go into STEM to earn more money than others. Most people with your outlook are greedy morons who think triple integrals are the hardest thing one can do.

To add a different perspective, though, I was someone that was pretty good at math as a kid and interested in the subject, but never once came into contact with more advanced material until Baby Rudin as a sophomore in college. I do think I would have benefited from being exposed to this stuff a lot earlier, and I don’t think it’s entirely fair for the onus to be on a teenager to be so self directed. U.S. high schools do a poor job pushing students in math beyond Calc BC, so if I was a parent with a kid that showed interest and aptitude for the subject, I definitely would try to encourage it that same way I would an interest in music or sport
