How do intrusive thoughts and OCD work, biochemically? How do I deal with my mind trying to deliberately taint things I like by "tying" negative thoughts and images to them, like some sort of hijacked aversion therapy done by my own mind on me?
For example, when I think of something I really like, like chocolate chip cookies for example, my mind will then conjure a bad image/feeling to forcefully and permanently associate with chocolate chip cookies. Some of these images/feelings are simply unspeakable. The image that got forcefully associated with chocolate chip cookies was someone shitting in my mouth and it feels nauseatingly real despite me knowing better.
I don't know if it's some combo of schizophrenia, OCD, and ADHD/Aspergers, but I would like some way to get rid of it. It's not life breaking but I'm rarely ever happy even when I'm supposed to be relaxing.
