is the level of education in western countries, particularly the US, substandard compared with other countries like Russia, Romania, China or India?

I'm Romanian and I've been told that the calculus we do in the 11th and 12th grades is equivalent to 1st year Calc 1 in US universities

we study limits and derivatives in the 11th grade and integrals in the 12th

is this true?

I really doubt that a backwater country like us can surpass American education, but I keep being fed these soviet lies that "oh we're better than everyone else! our education system is miles ahead the Western one!" which i can only regurgitate for so long
