It seems that every society that lets women have influence over the direction of society ends up being overtaken by a male dominated society. In earlier times it was the Egyptians, Greeks and the Romans.
Today far eastern countries seem to be dominating science and engineering, while western countries have skyrocketing rates of schizophrenia and other mental illnesses. Just look at traditional male dominant societies like South Korea, Japan, China, Singapore etc...
