I wasn't aware of it when I was a kid, but as I became older, I became aware of it. I had to read the textbooks in most of my classes to learn, and by the time I was in college I was fully aware of it and having female lecturers were rough.

Thing is, not all women trigger my brain to shutdown. I can listen to a woman with a foreign accent no problem. It's generic American accented women that trigger it. I have an easier time listening to people with foreign accents than I do Americans, even though I'm an American myself. Also, a man with an effeminate voice will trigger my brain to shutdown.

Not sure how I should deal with this. If I go to a psychiatrist they'll just put me on stimulants again which do nothing, and maybe put me on a list for sexism.
