"I want to scroll."
is preceded by
"um... I want to.. I think I want to...."
is preceded by
"uh*****uh*****"
is preceded by every-shallower-but-lower thoughts.
It is easy to stop yourself from thinking lower thoughts about a high abstract notion or impulse, just track your thoughts and feelings backward. Also don't feed your brain news sites. If you must browse, go to
archive.org where they have a million cool scifi books you can check out like Rama and Draka and a million others, for deeper and more complex literature, even if it is just a decrepit scifi author's pale lesbian orgy-fueled imitation of olaf stapledon fused with harry turtledove, is better than "News" which does weird stuff to your brain. Why? I have no idea. I got noise-cancelling headphones that help a lot with "noise" from the environment.
Casimir Debrowsky (an old psychiatrist) wrote that people like you should be nearly impossible to exist, for a failure to mature must owe to impediments in either environment or physiology. Clearly your environment is an led blinky backlight strobing in front of you (using red light filters does little to help this unless you have an oled screen, but oleds are bad for other more complicated reasons), which implies a change in melatonin distribution over your day which is in the definition of a physiological issue.
Exercise. How? Make a chart of pushups on your wall next to your door and add tickmarks per day. Even if all you can do is 4... strive for ten reps of 4 per day, every day, which might take up to a month to work up to (cf aforementioned physiological issues implying issues with sleep implying issues with cellular regeneration that would normally occur during sleep).
Then you'll be just like me, a nervous wreck addicted to lesbian orgy-infused scifi novels and giving questionable advice to strangers over the internet. I browse art galleries and use ublock to ban "head distractors" to distract myself to the mental noise leaves.
