Does anyone else hope there's a hard cap on information and medical technology, with warp travel some day, so humanity experiences all the space bullshit from scifi? The way things are going now we'll just become digital beings living in virtual scapes. While you could roleplay all that bullshit there, with your memory wiped so you knew of no world before it, it's still not the same.

I want space bullshit, spread far and wide, then widespread technological regression into antiquity so histories like ours with all its love and strife are repeated a million times. I don't want be subsumed into Newell's, Zuckerberg's, Musk's or Bezos' mind, or whoever techbro wins this game, which is already terrifyingly close to its conclusion. I don't want any of us to become immortal or for genes to be modified so much that exceptionality or beauty no longer exists. And I don't want history to end.
