Bear in mind that the majority of people fall somewhere between immoral and evil, and if you’re a decent human being any friends you make will likely take advantage of you. Friendship is extremely overrated except in the rare case that you have one or two very close friends, who are like family.
More proof of this is noticing who is popular. Popular people - starting early - in life tend to be handsome/pretty, sub 90 IQ, and immoral/cruel. If humans were good, popular people would be good and smart, not the opposite.
