New Doctor & Prescription Refill

I've been going to the same doctor for the past 3 years. She was the one who originally diagnosed me with ADD and prescribed me adderall.

I've moved elsewhere but would like to refill my prescription. What process do I go through to find a new doctor? Once the medical files are forwarded to their office, do I just walk in to the new office and say I want my prescription refilled?

Yeah, I'm on my 4th provider now. Once I had to pass a drug test, and had to wait a month to get my script cause I'd smoked weed. Though, I had switched insurance at the same time I switched doctors. If your insurance is the same, it shouldn't be an issue. Because Adderall is a schedule II, If you're in the same state, your new doctor can see your prescription history via the Prescription Monitoring Program.

Find out which nearby place takes your insurance. If you need help with that, call your insurance company.

Then schedule an appointment. Since you'll be a new patient at that clinic, you'll probably get a whole history and physical and basic lab work done.

Give them permission to request your prior medical forms from your previous hospital during your appointment. They'll give you a form to sign. Then they'll contact that hospital and receive all the relevant documentation.

Then that's it.
