>>12659637>textbook readerok lol I've already taken foundations of geometry and know how to prove that stuff using the seven axioms of Euclidean geometry. In order to teach calc you have to have a masters in math, so unless I go to grad school I won't be doing that anyway. I going to take abstract next year, but even still, I've never ever seen a teacher prove to me the fundamental theorem of algebra or even seen any student even ask to see it proven. Fact is, most kids in high school algebra just don't give a fuck if they learn it or not, the teacher is there to try and get them invested and set up for success later down the line. I highly doubt me being able to regurgitate the proof for the fundamental theorem of algebra is going to change that in anyone .
Just because you know the names of all these fancy theorems/fields of mathematics, doesn't mean that every teacher is going to have to know all of that shit.
