Quantum physics

How does one go from basic quantum-related knowledge (superficial understanding and knowledge of the application of tunneling, wave/particle duality, uncertainty principle etc.) to a greater and more fundamental understanding? Any books/online (freely accessible) lectures you suggest? I've been meaning to stray from the standard curriculum a bit myself, namely, to enlarge my knowledge on the topic, as I do desire to eventually get myself a job within the field/academics of quantum physics. Thanks in advance, anons!
