George Ellis from South Africa is not so sure that there is one theory of everything. He thinks perhaps there will not be one equation that fits everything into it.

I personally dont and I think cosmologists and theoretical physicists should switch departments, since physics is over. Cosmologists should go to the philosophy department, and theoretical physicists should simply move to the math department. This should be obvious to anyone, but it seems academia has not caught up to my level of thinking, as usual.

If your aim is to say theory of quantum gravity, yes.
String theory can be the right kind of math, but it may also not be enough.
