Now my idea what this could be:
Forget about aliens for one second. Imagine a simulation of life running on 2 dimensions hence life on a computerscreen. NO 3D generated world. All 2D! What if were're 3D a simulation running on a 4D computer. Think about that for a second.
What if that thing over the pacific was a 3D cursor from a 4D computer? Imagine creatures on a 2D plane and moving your cursor over the window which runs the 2D life simulation. Those 2D creatures would wonder what this wierd shape in their world is. Free from enertia you move it at will etc. Maybe play around with those creatures a bit and move your 3D cursor out of the window with insane speeds. Atoms being 3D pixels and all that wierd shit.
Maybe you wouln't be interested in the simulation anymore if everyone in it knew about it and shut it down. Maybe the goverment won't tell us what this is because they know everything and if everyone knew they were in a simulation, those 4D creatures wouln't be interested anymore in running our universe. Because why on earth woulnd't you come forward with such a big thing such as UFO's if it weren't for the security for everyone and maybe existance?
