I can't fucking do it

I really want to become an engineer. Specifically, I have a passion for learning about rocket propulsion. However, the math is my biggest stumbling block. I get so caught up in the actual arithmetic, even simple algebraic expressions like these, that the numbers begin to float around in my head and become meaningless. Some people seem to simply have an intuition granted to them by understanding the math that allows them to know on a fundamental level what is going on, but no matter how hard I study, I feel I can't. The math is always in the way. Am I doomed to be a smoothbrain forever? Will my math blindness prevent me from pursuing my goals?
