the western world kinda has a warped view on what time actually is

if the present lives at the expense of the future, there is no future but if the present is nothing but the future there is no past either
in the western world past and future are not what hold the present together but they are the present

you could say the peoples of the western world have a problem with determining what the present is

time is everflowing and not linked to anything however for people here time is linked to Christianity (past) and Marxism (future)
whenever people try to accelerate time it falls apart (Socialism - accelerated future, Fascism accelerated past)

I take it if you want to travel you best do it within the present
if movement is the only way to accelerate time and acceleration makes things fall apart then accelerated standstill is the only way to travel safely in time
most science fiction movies also display it that way, extreme acceleration happens but there is no actual significant real world movement
