>>12647930It wouldn't be practical to use Mars for building resources, at least first, because of the gravity well. It makes more sense to mine asteroids for zero g industry than to spend all that delta v getting stuff off of Mars. The Moon is also a good option, since its gravity is so low and and its closer to Earth. Mars will probably be useful for inhabitation and some forms of mining if it has rare stuff, but otherwise it won't make that much sense to start mining mars, especially if Mars starts getting terraformed.
