Why not work on implanting your consciousness on an avatar that is specifically made for a certain environment?
I don't think it's impossible by any means. The brain and the human body are made of particles, which are made of wave-functions that collapse when observed.
You could just, theoretically speaking, send an avatar somewhere, and then beam your consciousness to that specific avatar.
This comes to a halt once you consider... What is the purpose? Why not just have a "thing" observe something, and then have "thing" beam the information back to our brains?
I'm no expert but I think these are valid options for exploration purposes.
