I hate how common this has become. How did the human race function before the 20th century when we weren’t pumping kids full of amphetamines? I get it helps people focus but yeah of course it fucking does, regardless of who you are or what you struggle with taking some pervitin will get you focused. In general I hate the shift of shoving more and more aspects of human nature into the medical treatment environment thanks to schmucks in psychiatry and psychology. Is it so bad that we admit different people have different levels of executive function? Some kids have allergies, some have leukemia and yeah you know what some are over active and energetic and don’t want to do fucking homework. Sorry to rant but I just learned from a coworker that she, as a parent, has her fucking 8 year old taking 30 mg of aderall before school than an additional 10 mg after he gets home, then Benadryl and an additional sleeping medication because of “allergies” and trouble sleeping at night. I literally feel sick for that poor kid but it’s totally normalized. Just awful.
