Trivially N = 0 or 1 but how can it have a value when none of its terms are anything but ?? Does structure alone have a numeric value?

Sum term is equal to the whole sum and is therefore equal to N.
Upper bound of the sum is equal to N too.
Sum of a constant from one to N is that constant multiplied by N.
So we have N=N*N equation, and it indeed has 0 or 1 solutions.

Cool pic, good idea, lots of potential.
Funny thing though, in the example pic, the solution on the right if N is defined as such, is just N^2, which then leads to the system, N=N^2. Solving gives to solutions, N=0 and N=1.

Is reusing indexes even defined? You use the same n in every sum, that can give you crazy results in programming languages.

Yes and no, in the same way 0.999999... = 1.
Or that $\Sigma_{n=1}^\infty (any divergent function)=\infty$ .
