The moment after the ice begins to melt until the moment before the last piece of ice melts. The water is at 0 Celsius.

Don't really understand your answer. This isn't a trick question. Are you implying the water would be a constant temperature over the period you described, and that temperature would be 0 degrees Celcius?

At any point before that the temperature would be falling, then after this point it would increase, as the surface area of the ice cube decreases. Right?

That doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps I'm misunderstanding you, but it seems you're implying that adding any amount of ice to any amount of water will instantaneously make that water 0 degrees. I'm sure that's not what you're saying lol.

He clearly is being cheeky and saying that the ice is the coldest water in the glass (and that the ice is 0ºC)
He neglects the fact that the ice would be coldest just after the ice cube contacts the water, and that the ice cube is likely less than 0ºC
