there is no need to talk about dyson spheres to debunk aliens. why no alien TV? their TV and radio stations should have reached us by now. that technology comes hundreds or thousands (or more) of years before dyson spheres. in other words we should detect alien “i love lucy” way before seeing them build a crazy solar structure

Buuuuuut we can use the fact that we haven't found any radio cloud as a supporting argument that there are no advanced enough intelligent life in our horizon.

Earth has 200 light years of radiosignals
If aliens exists, and advanced enough, they should have something similar and in bigger range that would stick out like a sore thumb as it react with cosmic radiation

It takes an enormous amount of power just to bounce a signal off of Venus.

Surprise! It is from one of the closer sytems where a signal has somewhat of a chance.

Logically it is on a frequency that is good for such long range comms.

You can't assume, like you have, that any ass frequency would work from any far away system.

Yes,
having no radiosignals does not mean that life does not exist but not having one does mean that technological-leve there is not advanced enough

No it just means there are no signs of life we could detect with our current level of technology. A Dyson sphere type swarm would emit IR in a specific spectrum and of a known, correlated intensity. The fact that none can be observed means that no ancient, inter-planetary civilizations exist in our light-cone.
Let me explain why this is significant. Animals with kinda large brains have existed on earth since the dinosaurs, 65 million years ago. This means complex life could arise on planets of similar age of Earth at the very least in the last 65 millions years. If the dinosaurs did invest the industrial revolution, they would have had enough time to not only colonize every star, and making them Dyson spheres, in our galaxy, but the entire local group of galaxies.
This sum of observations suggests that technological life is extremely rare.

No one says you need to completely encapsulate a star. But building a bunch of satellites around it to harvest more and more energy you can use for computations or other large projects would eventually darken the star enough to be detectable anywhere in the galaxy.

Design a non-planet sun satellite to "harvest more energy." Will it have cables trailing to the nearest battery charging station? Beam the energy (like sunlight lol) to a spaceship? What materials would it use if it was close to the sun?

This would cause a major positive loop back effect that would result into your entire space traffic to be halted for years, if not decades worth of super dangerous clean up. Not including the casualty and economic collateral damage
