hey /sci/, this is the topic where i lost it in grad school: the Adler-Bell-Jackiw anomaly. i did the math and all but it never really sunk in. i think that was the watershed point where i left theory and decided to get my PhD in experimental physics

so now looking back i am curious. tell me about anomalies in QFT and in particular the ABJ anomaly or ‘t Hooft anomalies. or anything about solitons or sphalerons or stuff like that
