Worst case scenario, I'd currently be COVID positive and pre-symptomatic (having contracted it from another pre-symptomatic person, at the time). Would the vaccine still work / would it nuke the virus if I have it?

My current plan is to tell literally nobody about this and just get the poke & write off any/all symptoms as being from the vaccine. At this time it's been roughly 3 days since I was in contact with the pre-symptomatic dude.

How fucked am I? Any advice is appreciated.

no, but it might attenuate the symptoms(if it's the mRNA one; if it's the Sinovac one that is a classic vaccine, then it is functionally not different from being infected)

I'm pretty sure I can definitely be considered "exposed" but I'm still intending to just wear a mask very fucking tightly, get the vaccine, and bounce / quarantine

So that was definitely a high risk exposure. You'll want to quarantine for 10-14 days from the time you were around him. The recommendation is to wait on vaccination until that time period is up, but that's up to you. If I were you, I'd go on Amazon, buy glutathione, NAC, ionic zinc drops or zinc acetate lozenges, D3, vitamin C, and Xlear nasal spray. You could have them by Thursday, which is right around the 5th day post-exposure, the average for developing symptoms. I think the combination of those would keep most infections mild.

do you think the mRNA vaccination would exacerbate the infection, reduce it, or make no difference at all? moreover, should I get tested (drive thru) this week or just take it on the chin and hope for the best?

god it's gonna drive me fucking insane not knowing whether I'm experiencing things from the vaccine or an actual covid infection.

lastly do you think it helps my odds of not having it if I am blood type O- ? I'm sure it's a stretch but god damn I will grasp at straws at this point

I don't have any answers regarding the vaccine or blood type. Maybe someone else can chime in. You can get tested if it would give you peace of mind, but I'd take all of things until it's been two weeks regardless. I'm assuming you're young, you probably have nothing to be worried about in the first place, but I know what it's like to obsess over shit.

For the zinc, lozenges usually come at 15 mg. You can use up to 8 a day if experiencing symptoms, but 2 per day would probably be fine if you have no symptoms. Or you can buy liquid ionic zinc, put the drops into a tablespoon of water and swish it around your mouth periodically. The idea is to saturate the cells of your throat and mouth with zinc, and the ions also travel up the nasal tract (never put zinc up the nose, though). Zinc likely inhibits intracellular viral replication.

The Xlear can be used 2-4 times per day, it can deactivate any extracellular particles and escort them to your stomach. You can also use Listerine 2-4 times per day to take care of any particles in your mouth. Both of these are proven to deactivate SARS-CoV-2.

Keep in mind that you're talking to a guy who's citing a lay website on """Lyme Disease""". None of those supplements will do a damn thing for you, and it's a narrative pushed by a lot of people who (((coincidentally))) have stake in dietary supplements or naturopathy.

It's recommended you don't get the vaccine. It won't cause a problem if you do, and it will likely be just as effective, but it just won't help. If you are infected, you'll develop immunity anyway, and at this point we know that immunity is good for at least 3 months (and probably more). Hang around, and if you develop symptoms let your doctor know. If you're in a high risk group, you can get a monoclonal antibody therapy that, when given early in the disease course, is actually pretty good at keeping you from getting really sick.

I've had both doses of the vaccine. The first one my arm just hurt. It's the second dose that gives you the ~12 hours of fever.

There's been clinical trials with Xlear, Listerine, Sodium Ascorbate, and zinc. NAC reduces upper respiratory illnesses and boosts glutathione. Gluthathione has antiviral activity, reduces free radical damage, and is in both cells and the mucosal lining of the respiratory tract.

Last but not least, these supplements are freaking harmless over the course of two weeks. I've had multiple close exposures thanks to infected people coming to work, and I still haven't tested positive for antibodies. Maybe I was lucky, but I credit maintenance doses of this stuff.

genuinely curious about this part... I really don't see a reason not to. unless you mean because I am now someone with a known exposure (albeit pre-symptomatic).

I am not high risk (25, no preconditions, healthy overall), and don't live with anyone who is, but I just really do not want this fuckin germ.

The only reason it's not recommended is because there's a limited supply and at this point evidence suggests if you are infected you will be immune for a decent amount of time. That's it. At my hospital everyone was offered the vaccine, even those who already had COVID or were in quarantine for exposure. It's up to you.

That's for influenza and rhinovirus, zinc essentially binds to those receptors, blocking them. That's not why I recommend it for SARS-CoV-2. Ionic zinc inhibits at least two proteins required for SARS-CoV-2 replication. It's been used in numerous trials and showed better results than the untreated group. Blocking viral replication should be beneficial, yes? NAC has been directly shown, in vivo, to lower respiratory illnesses. It doesn't seem to prevent infection (people still developed antibodies), but it prevents the symptoms of infection. Xlear and Listerine were both used in small case studies and prevented serious illness. However, in vitro, they both quickly deactivate the virus. Obviously they will do nothing for cells already infected, but all viral particles spend some time outside of the cells. If you can deactivate them before they enter a new cell, you should be able to reduce the severity of the infection. I'm not recommending this stuff on a whim.
