Why snakes have no paws?

This doesn't make sense, having paws gives much advantage for survival.

They didn't need them or even hindered them.
Perhaps they needed the camo, silence of slithering around, to survive more than having paws.

There was an advantage for having no paws in the specific niche they occupied. Think of what they eat or do to survive nowadays. How would having paws made it worse, and how does having no paw improve it?

Realy? You can think of no scenarios in which having appendages would be selected against? No scenario in which the closer to the ground you are, the safer you are? No scenario where a smaller surface area would be advantageous? Considere, which style of movement is better when a low moving, stealthy body type is selected for. One with cumbersome noisy legs, or one without? The ancestor of the snake was probably something with side legs like a corocodile, which moved partially, over time more and more with the help of its belly moveing in a sinoid manner. Eventually the legs became prehensal.

I find this so funny. Snakes exists, and they have pelvic bones, so they evolved from something with legs, so it had to kae some sence, or it wouldnt have happened.
